Coastal Curlew Fruit Bowl

A unique handmade glass Curlew bowl to add statement to your kitchen or living space. A unique gift ideal for those who have a love of the sea or bird life.

Living near the coast in Portsmouth I am blessed to have had wonderful coastal views. I have been enchanted by the wonder of the curlew bird with it’s unmistakable piping call.

Each bowl is handmade in my Portsmouth workshop. No two will be exactly the same, each will be your very own piece of glass art.

The process….

Clear glass is cut to work on as my base. Glass enamel powders are then sieved to create the landscape of my coastal curlew scene. It is then time to kiln fire to form a smooth flat surface. The flat surface allows me to apply the screen print of the curlew. To cure the screen print the coaster needs to be fired for a second time. It is at this time that a ceramic former is used to mould the shape.

A larger bowl is also available if you are looking for something more striking.
