Living near the coast in Portsmouth I am blessed to have had wonderful coastal views. I have been enchanted by the wonder of the curlew bird with it’s unmistakable piping call.
Each bowl is handmade in my Portsmouth workshop. No two will be exactly the same, each will be your very own piece of glass art. Please state whether you would like the screen print of the curlew or not when ordering.
Suitable for fruit and snacks if you wish. Many enjoy as a decorative piece.

The process….
Clear glass is cut to work on as my base. Glass enamel powders are then sieved to create the landscape of my coastal curlew scene. It is then time to kiln fire to form a smooth flat surface. The flat surface allows me to apply the screen print of the curlew. To cure the screen print the coaster needs to be fired for a second time. It is at this time that a ceramic former is used to mould the shape.
A smaller bowl is also available if you are looking for something more subtle.
